dutch version

As I saw there is no dutch version of strings.xml, I decided to create
one.
The procedure for doing this looked pretty simple, I added a fork to
the existing (empty) values-nl/strings.xml file for posting my
translation, (correct?).
But I could not find a convenient to test the translation before
uploading the file. How do I do this?

For this there are the development builds. So create a pull request for the file, the file
will be merged and than build will be created, so you can test immediately.

Yeah, I already was afraid of this.
But is there a way for the author to tell his contribution is not
ready yet.
I just want to avoid the situation with for example the Spanish or
Portuguese translations, which are only half-finished, but still have
been published in the final releases!!
It looks like this project lacks some kind of quality control, but I
hope I am awfully wrong.
Anyway, I will post my draft translation within a few days and see how
it looks like on my device.

Hi!

   IMHO, half-finished is better than nothing, in this case. Before each
release, there is a request that people should update the translations.
Most people do, but not everyone has the capacity/time or will. So
the quality of the files depends on the contributors only.

The choice is yours: Half-finished translation, or no translation at
all ... :-)

But if you can provide a start, it is much easier for someone else to
finish, it may actually motivate people if the have only half of the
work left. So please don't be shy and submit your file. What is the
big deal, after all ??

PS: and if you do not like the Dutch, you can always switch back to
Vietnamese ... :-))

I have removed a few issues with string names and wrong apostrophies
(remember to always put \') and added nl as "Display language" option
in the latets nightly build now.

Dutch is included as a display option now in the latest nightly build.

Hi Hardy,
Thanks for the corrections.
I will never forget those apostrophies again! ;)
After checking the results, I found some 30 imperfections that I will
correct today.
But there is one point, I cannot solve without the help of others:
In the settings menu -> map configuration -> vector renderer specific
options, All the options still showed up in English.
The key "show_more_map_detail" is present in strings.xml, but is not
translated.
As regarding the other values:
- show contour lines
- rendering mode
- no polygons
I could not find these texts in the strings.xml.
Could you give me a hand?

Hi Rodolfo, Please see my remark to you just before in a neighboring
thread. For the reasons stated there, these "vector renderer specific"
settings cannot be localized. They are fairly specific, too, most
users would not normally have to access them anyway.
