Just curious if this will happen. I recently discovered OsmAnd on my Android devices, and it is excellent.

Same thing goes for Jolla (Sailfish OS). Osmand would be a real killer there also.

Is there anything new regarding this now that Ubuntu Phone is out? Thank you.

I really hope it will be possible to run Android version, cause it will be so much easier for maintenance!

According to Canonical, they have no plans to support Android applications on Ubuntu Phone. I know it takes some more development to port an aplication to Ubuntu Phone to make it look native, because I did it. But if you don't change the UI, it should not be much work (if it is plain Qt/C++).

Don't know if they're still monitoring this page, but: http://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/applications-youd-like-to-be-ported-to-ubuntu-touch/1205

OsmAnd is one of a few apps that might keep me from switching to Ubuntu Touch.

I support this idea. It would be great to have Osmand on Ubuntu Phone platform.
