Hi,

I created a new route from Point A to B and I was looking at it and I'd like to do a small change. I was thinking to change a route it would be the same as in Google Maps where you just drag a point on the map to a new locatino and it recalculates the route, however this doesn't seems to be the way in OSM (the online browser version as well as the Android version).

How do I change a route?

Thank you,

Matias.

OsmAnd isn't the android version of OSM. It's a separate product, developed by separate people. In fact, http://osm.org is just meant as a data preview, showing what OSM data can do while using thrid-party tools for rendering, routing, searching, ... While OsmAnd is a full product on its own, using OSM data.

That said, dragging routes on a phone is irritating. People would want to pan, and instead modify their route. In OsmAnd, you can just long-press on a point, and add it as route point. This UI makes that less people will accidentaly modify their route.

For osm.org, it's true that they don't support via-points. But that's not really needed to inspect data quality, so I don't think it will be added soon. Other demo sites (f.e. http://map.project-osrm.org/ ) that show how good a certain piece of software is, do allow you to add via-points.

Regards,
Sander

Hi Matias. - To add a waypoint.
When you've got the route displayed, just decide on the new location you'd like to pass through en-route. Long-touch the map at that location.
A black box appears showing Lat/Long.  Touch the black box.
In the new menu which appears, select "Add New Waypoint".
New route is calculated.
Touch map to return to following the route.
If necessary, touch "Go" at the bottom of the screen.
OK?

More-expert users please feel free to improve on the above.
