Dedicated Folders for additional map-families

For using different families of raster-maps in sqlite-format it is needed to load these maps from different selectable folders (e.g. as overlay-map).
Up to now I do not see, how this is possible.
Does anybody know a way of choosing different folders for loading of maps?

Thanks

Hi -  I don't exactly understand your question, but it's been a couple of days since you posted, so here is a first attempt to help!

Assuming Android, AFAIK if you have generated sqlite, e.g. mymap.sqlitedb you can place such files directly in OsmAnd's "tiles" folder - they don't need to be in subdirectories (which are needed for directory hierarchies of image files (*.png.tile or *.jpg.tile) that haven't been packed into sqlite).

You need to do a full restart of OsmAnd before it sees new additions (force-stop or swipe away from the recent apps list).

Speaking vaguely from random experiences, I found that that previously you had to choose a new addition as a "Map source" before it would show as a possible overlay or underlay. But in the latest version(s) this seems to have been fixed.

I may have completely misunderstood your question, but I hope this will get help started.

Thank you for the description of handling of maps in sqlitedb-Format and copying them to the tiles-folder of OSmAnd.
This is the way I have handled my maps up to now.

In some cases I want to use different types/families of maps for the same area/country, e.g.:
- overview maps
- geological maps
- working-sheets (mix of sat+tracks)
- historic maps
- specail russian maps
- city-plans

So the storing of these map-families all in the one folder "tiles" becomes quite confusing.
Each map has to be named accordingly and the list of maps is very long.
Storing each map-family in a separate selectable folder would make the handling much easier.

I hope I have described now a bit clearer what I am after.
Thanks
Werner

As there seem to come no further answer to my topic, I plan to make an issue at GitHub related to Osmand.
I have never done this and so I do not really know, how it must be done.

Can somebody please describe, how and what I must do?
Some hints and help?

Thanks
Werner
