railway=abandoned vs abandoned:railway=rail

Hi. OSMAnd renders railway=abandoned but doesn't render abandoned:railway=rail.

Can I fix this myself? Can OSMAnd be changed to fix this? I tell people on the Facebook group Abandoned Rails to buy OSMAnd, but I can't do that if it doesn't render the new tagginging forms.

I'm a little fuzzy on things but I think this is a two-step process:

OsmAndCreator, that converts osm format to osmand format, may need to
be configured to translate/pass this tag. I believe part of the grand
plan is to omit tags that won't be used, to reduce storage.

a style is then needed to render the new tag

but I'm not clear on where the sources are. I'm not sure where the
config files used for the standard maps are, but they should be findable.

Currently, OsmAnd offline maps do not include objects tagged solely with `abandoned:railway=rail`. I have created a feature request to add them, and you can track its progress at https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd/issues/22395.

Hi! June map updates contain abandoned:railway=rail; it can be seen by enabling the Details > More details option in Configure Map.
