The notes in the latest Play Store release 2.5.3 (13 Nov 2016) states "improved navigation notifications (Android Wear)".  It's mentioned in the OsmAnd Blog on 8 Nov 2016: "OsmAnd has become way friendlier towards the Android Wear. Now you can get a full navigation information including next turn, distance, and ETA. You'll get two kinds of notifications: 1) navigation related 2) trip recording related."

Wear support has been mentioned in far earlier releases of OsmAnd which turned out to be a false alarm.

OsmAnd+ 2.5.3
Sony SW3 running latest Wear firmware (version can be provided if required)
Wear app updated to latest release (2.0.0.138705214, 10 Nov 2016)
Wear update also required Google app to be updated to 6.7.21.21 (3 Nov 2016)

OsmAnd does not show on watch in any way shape or form.  There is no option to select OsmAnd within the compatible apps on the watch

Where is the mythical Android Wear support?  It would be the icing on the cake to have this functionality whilst cycling, I would love to see it implemented.

Cheers

Hi, no I see nothing regarding OsmAnd on my Sony SW3. There are no notifications on the watch & nothing on the watch relating to OsmAnd. I can't see any Wear specific settings within OsmAnd.

Is anyone able to use OsmAnd with Android Wear? Am I missing something? It would be great to use on Wear devices.

Thanks

Hi,

is there any progress on that issue? I also dont see any directions on my Sony Smartwatch 3 (all apps and firmware up to date).
I would really like to see that feature finally working because it would be very usefull on mountainbike tours.

kind regards
Thomas

What's up on this? Is this still just somethong mythical feature what no ome saw?
I would love if Navigation would work via Android Wear.
Also some tutorial for the setup and list of supported/suggested hardware would be fine.

Hi since the last "big" update to OsmAnd (2.6.5?) I now see directions on the watch (Sony SW3) when OsmAnd is running with navigation in progress. Sometimes I need to swipe up a few times on the watch to scroll through other notifications to reach the OsmAnd card.

There is no way to launch OsmAnd on the watch, the notifications automatically appear during navigation & give basic navigation instructions such as distance to next turn & turn direction. There's no vibration to warn of upcoming turns or hazards but it's definitely useful for cycling or hiking.

Thanks devs for another great feature
