Hi, colleagues in open source development)
I've got topic problem after using an external track.
Yesterday I used the track and build direction on it (and I liked it).
Today I see unwanted osmand that "searching for gps" (and probably eating my battery) in the system tray of my phone.
What tried:
- swich off GPS on phone
- close direction in osmand.
- swich off track in osmand
- forced stop osmand
- reboot phone
And all that didn't resolve the problem.
System: osmand 2.5.4 on xiaomi redmi 3s android 6.0.1

Could you give me an advice how to fix that?

Have your afforts included this?
Go to your device's "Settings", "Application Manager". Shut down all unwanted aps. especially Osmand and "Location".
Go to "Settings", "Battery" to see what % power the apps have been using.  You will probably get more meaningful figures if you fully charge, then shut-down and re-boot your device, then repeat the test.

(Some more-knowledgeable Osmand-user will prbably have better ideas)

Hi, Paul.
Thanks for your answer.
1. I have no "application manager" in "settings", only "system apps" and "installed apps". In "system apps I've found "LocationServices" and "osmand". Stopping these apps has no effect to my systray.
2. In "settings" -> "battery": Osmand - 2.4%.

Nice one Tom!
> Taras.... You could also try looking in your "installed apps". Maybe OsmAnd will be visible there, (perhaps in "running", if that exists). If so, you may be able to force close it from there.

Hi. As I wrote in the first post I tried to force close osmand and it didn't help.

Are you back to square one, or did you find a solution? - (I'm defeated, though touch wood, I dont have the problem).

Hi, sorry for delay. I forgot about the problem and planned to return to Tom's link several days later.
And, as it often happens, the problem was disappeared. I tried to reboot, start osmand but I couldn't catch similar symptoms.
Anyway, thanks for help and care.
