Osmand + Android Auto

I remembered that I tried few months back OsmAnd and Android Auto, it seems AA can only sees OsmAnd free (requires some work with Osmand+), tried with Redmi C9, it could connect but wasn't working properly, so end up giving up. Got a new cellphone, Oppo Reno2 and download Osmand~ (is this a free version?) from Google Appstore, but AA does not see it. Can someone tells me if AA is blocking Osmand or there's a better alternative to AA (preferably open source, tired of Google/MS imposing their products)? Is there a site/group dedicated to linking/showing Osmand app over car computers? (versions used: Osmand 8.

Hi! 

Only apps installed from Google Play are allowed to use on Android Auto.

Osmand~ is NOT a version from the Play store and can't be downloaded from the Play Store.

It can be downloaded from F-Droid.org for example, but it is a different version.
