What does "Prevent standalone logging" setting mean?

In my German UI I found the setting "Eigenständige Streckenaufzeichnung unterbinden"" and couldn't make sense of it. I switched the app's language to English because i thought it might be a bad translation. But I don't understand either what "Prevent standalone logging" means. What does "standalone" mean in this context?
