Hello all

I have used osmand very few times, until now very satisfied. Very good work indeed.

Today I downloaded a file from bbbike in obf format. After I downloaded the file, I copied it into the directory of osmand in my android phone. When Osmand launches, it does recognize the new map, but I can not browse it. I mean, when I click on maps osmand tells me that there is no offline map for that location.

What do I need to do?

Thank you

Are you able to use the offline address search in Osmand app?

What cities are listed there if you type some letters?

Can you point to the file you downloaded?

Try this, but it says it will be available for 48 hours, so ...

Any way, I managed to do some maps using Osmand Map Creator, although it would have been more comfortable if
I had the possibility to download directly from any website.

Thank you

By the way, this is the default Bounding Box [12.875,52.329,13.902,52.705] of the BBBike extract service.
Maybe you accidentally downloaded the wrong location.

Max

I see, obviously I am doing something wrong. I am new at Osmand, so ... Is there any walk through link which I can consult?

Thank you

If you want to use the BBBike extract service, you have to choose the desired area.

How to use the BBBike extract service:

1. Go to http://extract.bbbike.org/?lang=en
2. Move the map to your desired location.
3. Choose "Manually select a different area"
4. Message "Drag a box on the map to select an area" shows up.
5. Click and hold the left mouse button, draw the bounding box, release the left mouse button.
6. Enter "Format: Osmand (OBF)", "Your email address" and "Name of area to extract"
7. Push the "extract" button.
8. Wait for email notification and download the map.

Regards,
Max

Well, that's what I did. I will try once more anyway and see how it goes.
Thank you for your support.
