I saw yesterday that while viewing a route via "Start animation" it
sometimes uses a too high speed in the simulation (299 Km/h, for
example).
Even on streets with a maxspeed it goes higher than the allowed speed.

Is this normal and expected for the animation?

Also, how do I stop the animation? I already cleared the route and the
destination, but the animation continues as before.

You can set the animation speed from 1-4. Are you sure you didn't select a multiplier from 1 to increase the animation speed?

Number is at 1.

Also, how do I stop it?

Sorry pressed the enter key by accident.

The same option (in the menu) used to start the animation is used to stop the animation.

See how fast it is (207 Km/h).
This street is tagged with maxspeed=50 and the animation speed is at 1.

It's also possible to see the maxspeed warning from osmand sometines.

It shouldn't be as fast like this, right?

I agree that, as such, it shouldn't overspeed. I tested it myself as well. There are more peculiarities.
I chose animation speed x4 (I'm impatient), but on some straight roads where 70 was allowed the speed stayed at 48 km/h, whereas on a 50 km road the speed went up to 289 km/h, which is far more then 4x the allowed speed.
It would be better if it was correct, but why is this an issue? You won't get a fine for "virtual speeding".

It's a very minor issue, since you will get a wrong idea of the max
allowed speed of a way.
