Hoto hide that RED ARROW on the map?

It's so ugly and create confusion between your position (black) and thi red arrow ( i suppose indicate the north position).

No way to hide it on the map, please help!  ^_^ ...

The red arrow points to your destination. Quite helpful in many circumstances. You can get rid of it menu ->define view -> configure screen -> Show destination direction (quite far to the bottom). Your position should be a blue GPS pointer.

Now i found it... There's a problem with the translation to italian ( i am fro Italy)  tha voice isa called " Direzione della visuale"   wich means almost nothing in italian (that's the reason why i didn't found the way to hide it ) the more correct translations houdl be " Mostrare la direzione della destinazione"  (Show destination direction). If anyone can suggest this to the people who develope it...  Anyway thanks a lot!

The option is unchecked but 

I must delete  the destination to get rid of it;

Man, you are playing with the WRONG setting ...

 

What you are hiding is the "Viewing direction" (Italian translation seems to call it "Direzione della visuale"), it is a blue piece-of-pie type area indicating in which direction your device is currently pointed (from you current position). It is only visible if your device has abuilt-in compass.

 

What you apparently want to hide is the "Show destination direction" indicator, Italian translation uses "Visualizza la direzione della destinazione" for this ...

I think you are right....

I have the 1.4.1 version...

I can't find the option : "Show destination direction" or  "Visualizza la direzione della destinazione"  I've tried in both languages... :(

It's in the general setting or in the view mapa settings?

Have you found the "configure screen" function? you need to scroll all the way down, 8th line from the bottom, between "ruler" and Transparent skin"

Looking the main settings options, i've seen a plugin called " see advanced options"  .

So with that option set ON i can see a lot of settings and there is the one i missed.

Using version 1.2.3, I don't seem to have any of the settings options needed to remove the red arrow. Have the menu layouts changed since the conversation above? 

While I'm here, I must thank all the developers - osmand saved us a lot of time and errors in the hills above Lake Como yesterday.
