Hi I'm using 5422D version on 4.2.1 Android phone.

The altitude seems wrong for about 40 meters less. I've installed the "world altitude correction WW15MGH" in the download sections in green color but seems does not take effect at all. The same version on a android 2.3 phone show right altitude.

Others sport applications on the same 4.2.1 device give right altitude

Bye, Mirco

P.S.: THL W100 MTK6589 based phone

No one else has this problem?

Mirco, 2 questions:

(1) If you activate or deactivate the WW15MGH file (re-start the app in between), does OsmAnd report the SAME altitude value, or does it differ?

(2) Do you have the app "GPS Status"? It has a Setting where you can select between Mean Sea Level and WGS84 altitude. What does your phone report in either case?

Thanks, Hardy

Hi Hardy,

Exactly the same 104 meters instead of 160 meters that is a good measure. I deleted the file because I don't find the option to deactivate WW15MGH file. Before was green colored.

(2) Do you have the app "GPS Status"? It has a Setting where you can select between Mean Sea Level and WGS84 altitude. What does your phone report in either case?

Sea level 104 WGS84 152 meters.

Thank you.

Mirco

Hmm, really sounds like the file is somehow not honored on your device ... (Renaming its extension or moving it to a different folder should do the trick to disable it ...)

So now, if you re-download it, then restart the app/the phone, does it make any difference?

Thank you for the fast reply.

Yes, that's the correct file ... the file date is also ok- Only, you should likely rename the extension (.extra), not the file name.

I am a little clueless for the moment. Has it ever worked on that phone? What model is it?

this problem isn't very important for me now, I think it's more important for OsmAnd.

Not at all, it's a THL W100 a MKT6589 based phone.

Thank you.
