Hi all, I need a clue to resolve this:
(OsmAnd+ 4.2)

I have 3 favorites points in my map: Home, Point A and Point B.

I am now physically at Home.
I want to check the route from A to B, see what roads are taken, the distance and time.
So I start a new navigation and set A as starting point then B as end point. Fine. And surprisingly OsmAnd does a route from Home to A to B, but I do not want route from Home to A, only from A to B, as I specified in navigation dialogs.

No way how I manage to define the end points that I need, OsmAnd always includes the place where I am now into the soup.

As a reader of this group, I guess this has to do with the "ability" of OsmAnd to lead me from where I am to my route, so it always includes my present location, whether I want it or not. This time I do not want this.

But how can I tell OsmAnd not to act in this way this time?
I could not find the answer after hours into the menu-labyrinth.
Thanks for your help!

method 1
- disable the location receiver into your smartphone
- start the osmand app
- make a route as before
- as departure point select what you like, example "from the map"

method 2
- disable the location receiver into your smartphone
- start the osmand app
- select into menu the option "plan route"

Thanks lodrogyamtso.
method 1: didnt work
method 2: yes, I could do and save a gpx track, to be used later.

You know, I was used to check many tracks this way in older versions, without being "attached" to my present location, and that independency allowed me to assess alternatives, or to simply plan a day by learning beforehand the total time to do several tracks. I still wonder what changed in newer versions, and wonder if it's a feature or a bug.
Thanks and happy journeys.

Hi Roberto,
in my case, the method 1 is working. Maybe it has to do that my smartphone is .... PND. There is no sim card inside and it is set to airplane mode. wifi also to OFF mode into my experiments.
With this method there is also the "simulate navigation" option. You can "see" like a video the route

about "plan route"
if you need to share the gpx file with other applications or original outodoor PND like garmin, i suggest to set the option "simplified track" to ON. It is at save window.

Hi Roberto

Are you pressing 'Start' on navigation? If so your position will always be first because it's navigating. When I set the start and end and let it calculate I can pull up the navigation tab and see the time and distance.

Hope that helps

Tom
