Hi!

I use OsmAnd+ very successfully on my android phone but would like to move the maps to my phone SD card to save space on my phone. However, when I ask OsmAnd to move the location of the files it does so but then when I reboot the app it says that the map files are not compatible. I have also tried re-downloading the maps to the new location and it still says the same. In order to get it to work again I have to move the file location back to the phone and re-download the maps from scratch, it won't even accept the back up copy of the map files copied to the new location. Can anyone explain to me why? The option is there to have the map files on the SD card and I really would like to use it.

That sounds quite strange.

What phone and what android version exactly?

You know about the "issue" with Android 4.4 and folder access for each app?

But not sure whether this is the reason for your errors.

Hi!

Thank you for your response. My phone is a Samsung S4 mini and my android is V 4.2.2. I did not know about the issue you mention below but couldn't find the article either. The link just goes to a load of help files and I tried searching on V 4.4 and SD card and got no response. Can you tell me if there was a solution to the issue please? I have not had a problem with any other app but then I don't think I have any other app that uses data from my SD card?

Well, scroll down that wiki page until the headline "

Cannot use my SD Card with OsmAnd anymore?

"
appears.

BUT: your android version is NOT 4.4.x ... so that isue is not 100% to your problem.
