Tapping favorites on map doesn't show info

Hi, I've added a few new favorites in Osmand+ 1.2.1 but tapping on any favorite won't show me info about that specific favorite. Instead it looks like it shows some navigation instructions on the map in a black bar.
Another problem occurs when I select a previous made favorite from the favorite tab. Then the favorite info is shown on the map but can't be removed by tapping the red cross above that info.
This was also the case in Osmand+ 1.2. A previous version of OsmFree didn't had that problem so what's wrong?

This is a known issue for Samsung Galaxy 3  Mini (and context menu is also broken for favorites).
What is your device?

Hi Victor,

It's a Samsung Galaxy S2 Android version 4.1.2.
Can I help to solve this issue by providing some extra information or whatever? And does an OsmAnd buglist exist? And where can I find it?

Cheers
Rene

Will try to reproduce with Samsung Galaxy I, that only phone that I have from Samsung Galaxy family.
Basically I need somehow debug access to understand the issue internally which is very difficult to do over the distance.

Thanks Victor. If you can't reproduce these issues on your Samsung Mobile then maybe you can tell me how to debug my S2? All I need to know is what software to use and maybe some instructions what to do. After that I can send you the info you need, is that a possibility?

Regards
Rene

Hi,

same issue here, my device is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Here are my symptoms:
1) When selecting a point (favorite, waypoint, destination), the coordinates box doesn't appear anymore, the "Set as desitnation, Show route from here [...] Add to favorites" dialog appears directly.
This prevents from removing a waypoint.

This happens since a few weeks (I would say v1.2 but I can't be sure, I'll try to install earlier versions).
I tried to uninstall, remove osmand folder completely but I still have the issue.

2) When selecting a point on the map and adding it as destination or waypoint, the taken by osmand is a different one, a few cenitmeters from the one I selected. This, on high level zooms can be problematic.
I'm not sure this is linked with the issue in this thread, if you think they should be treated as two different; tell me; I'll open another thread.

Regards,
Flo.

For issue #1, I downloaded version http://download.osmand.net/releases/net.osmand-1.1.4%20beta-120.apk

and I'm able to reproduce.

With version net.osmand-1.1.3 beta-116.apk everything is fine (on a Galaxy Nexus at least).
I guess I'll keep this one till the issue is fixed since it's quite annoying to have a waypoint a few kilometers from the one you expected ;-).

Hope this helps, thanks for the good work.

Flo.

I think this is the same thread http://code.google.com/p/osmand/issues/detail?id=1869.
I see a big list of devices now, I believe but I still can't reproduce it. If you can make a video it would be awesome.

I made a video on Galaxy Nexus emulator where I can't reproduce it , what am I doing wrong?
http://download.osmand.net/resource/bug.ogv (watch with VLC for example).

Are we talking about custom ROMs here?
Samsung Galaxy S2 , Galaxy Nexus , please reply:)

I'm trying to figure out something more, please attach screenshots with sequence of actions.

So Flo ,

Are you running a custom rom on the 1280x720 nexus ?

This is very important .

Hi,

I am running sotck ROM on the Galaxy Nexus, version 4.2.2 kernel 3.0.31.

I am doing exactly as seen in the video: long-press on a POI (or anywhere in the map in fact) and I don't get the small rectangle ("Shop: Bakery Name" in your video). The menu set as destination is directly displayed.
When testing on 1.13, I get the "Shop: Bakery Name" (or any POI description I click on) rectangle.

Something else I just noticed, when I go in the Favorites menu, click on "Show on map", the small rectangle is indeed displayed.
But when I click on it, a short Toast message is displayed saying "Please select destination first" (please see attached file). Not sure this is the expected behaviour, the same issue or a different one.

If there is a way to activate some more logs, please tell me so we can see what is going on when I long press the map.

If you want to build a very verbose version, I can install it for some tests and come back to 1.13 once we're done.

Cheers.

Hi,

as asked earlier, I did a video while I am reproducing the issue.

Sorry for the crappy quality, the upside-down screen and everything but the essential is here: you can see the symptoms (and it's on 1.2.1, even if it's hardly readable).

Video is available here: http://dl.free.fr/ru4o8Zef7

Issue source is found and can be disabled ...

Turn accessibility Mode off .

And everything goes normal again.

Hi,

if you are talking about Plugins -> Accessibility; it is turned off on my device and nothing happens if I activate and deactivate it so either I misunderstand something or this is not the root cause.

Cheers,
Flo.

Leave the plugin on .

go to settings > accessibility>accessibility mode>off.

Explanation : the plugins settings only hides/shows the plugin functionality settings and doesn't actually turn it off/on .

So again :

Leave the accessibility plugin on .. and

go to.... settings > accessibility>accessibility mode>off.

My bad, I wasn't aware of this.

It's indeed working fine when deactivating the accessibility mode, thanks a lot.

Do you plan to definitively fix this in the future? (I don't even know what the accessibility mode does so I'm fine with deactivating it but others might need it)

Thanks again and keep up the good work ;-)
