I use and external GPS receiver as source for OsmAnd+. The cursor arrow that shows the current position does not point in the driving direction, but  keeps the same orientation. This does not happen if I use the internal GPS of the phone. Otherwise the position and track shown by OsmAnd+ are correct.

Configuration:
  • Exteral GPS receiver: GNS 2000
  • Smart phone: Nexus 4 running Android 5.01
  • Connecting app: Bluetooth GPS (mock GPS provider enabled)
Does a way exist to correct this? If not, can I replace the error cursor with one that doesn't have a direction?

Thanks.

Blue.

It is not the red one pointing to the destination.

Both, it has more channels and uses Russian satellites as well. Using the built-in GPS we sometimes had no navigation over long distances.

I now found that in addition to the cursor error also the speed is not shown, although it has been ticked for display

I have done some more tests.

It looks like the issue is in the way OsmAnd processes data from the mock GPS. It provides GPS as well as GLONASS. I tried Bluetooth GPS and Bluetooth GPS provider, both with the same result. Google Maps does not find any position at all. OruxMaps finds position, speed and direction correctly, both with the external GPS helper and with its internal BT GPS mode.
