What is the reason why OsmAnd couldn't natively support external bluetooth GPS without the need to install bluetooth GPS apps??

Hi Jeffrey,

this is something Android specific, and not Osmand specific. I regularly use an external Bluetooth GPS receiver on my Android 4.1 phone (which has a crap builtin GPS).

Sebastien,

Do you use the bluetooth GPS receiver with together with OSMAnd? If so, what app do you use to mock the location service?

What model of bluetooth GPS do you use?

Thasnk,
Ondra

Hi Ondra,

in earlier Android versions (2.x) I had to use some bluetooth app. But in my current 4.1.x I can simply connect to an external bluetooth device (I use the Holux M241)  without any external app (and set the source of the GPS location via the settings).

Hi Sebastian,

Mine is Android 4.0.4 but I couldn't get the OsmAnd+ to communicate natively with my Holux m1000c. I need to install once of those external Bluebooth GPS apps to get it to work, what did I miss out in my settings?
