Hi all,

I'm a new user of the app. I use it to record my cycling sessions and it work very well!!
But, I would like to export these .GPX into my computer to analyse these data.
How can I do this? Where are recrods the GPX traces ?
When I go into the folders of osmand, they are totally empty ... :( {storage/extSdCard/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files/ and storage/emulated/0/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files}

Thanks in advance for answers :)

Have exactly the same issue. Can't find gpx files on my phone. Also when I try to send gpx track via email from OSMAnd I get message "You have not permissions to attach file".

OSMAnd+ version: 2.3.5
Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, MIUI 7.2.5.0
Android version: 5.1.1

If I open any track in `Distance calculator & planning tool` plugin and then save it OSMAnd shows next message:

GPX file successfully saved to /data/data/net.osmand.plus/no_backup/tracks/Test.gpx

Try attaching your cell to the PC via USB Cable and connecting with MTP Protocol.
Once the device has been recognized you can open and browse it like it was a regular folder.

Go to the directory you have set as "Data Storage folder" in OsmAnd General Settings menu.
The shown path can be different depending on the Andorid version you have, i.e., For Lollipop 5.0 and 5.1 it should be:

/storage/Emulated/0/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files  for internal storage.

/storage/ExtSdCard/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files for external SD storage.

Viewed through MTP connection the storage folder should appear as
-  "Phone/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files" in the first case (internal)  and

- "Card/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files" in the second case.

When you have reached the /files folder, you shuould find you gpx files in the tracks/rec subdirectory; just copy to your PC and use your favorite application to review them.

For better readability, I'll include below the FULL path of the folder containing gpx records (as shown by Window File Manager):

  • Internal storage:     "Phone/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files/tracks/rec
  • External Storage:    "Card/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files/tracks/rec"
Please also note that if you are using the Free version of OsmAnd you must look for "net.osmand" , instead of "net.osmand.plus" folder

There is no any gpx files on the mtp device (/sdcard/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files directory is present but empty). I installed Total Commander on my phone and now I see files inside / but can't open /data.

Probably this issue is device (firmware) specific.

Thanks Max for your answer,
But I've already did with this method. And it doesn't work. In fact, the folder "files" is entirely empty even with the protocol MTP

There is a big trouble in this application I think... I just downloaded "GPX viewer" and when I go into the OSMAnd+ app, to watch tracks. And when I want to share the records with "GPX viewer" I've got the message : it's not a GPX file, or KML or LOC. So, in what is it recorded?

I extracted my tracks from OSMAnd. But this was really hard way. I backed up OSMAnd data with backup utility (default MIUI backup tool), copied to my laptop and cut all gpx files from backup.

Yes, it can be firmware-related, even though this sounds to me a little strange..

Unfortunately I don't know what device/Android version do you have, I used this method on Samsung Galaxy S Advance, Core Prime, S5, and also on Wiko Pulp/Pulp Fab,  and some tablets, with Android versions ranging from 4.1.2 to.5.1.1, and it worked fine on all the listed devices, both rooted and unrooted.

Another thing I'm thinking about: there's an Android "feature" which could be a little misleading: in some devices, the same directory can be mapped with different paths at the same time (especially for internal SD), (i.e. /storage/emulated/0/Folder , /storage/secure/Folder, mnt/sdcard/Folder, etc.): of course, some of those paths/aliases might allow access with different read/write/list/execute permissions...

If this is your case, you might simply being watching the "wrong place".

A simple trick you can do is saving a gpx track with OsmAnd, giving it a particular name (i.e. MyGpx), then search for it (MyGpx.gpx) with Total Commander: this should allow you to discover where are those files saved ;)

Best things,

Thanks for your answers! :)

I found a solution, I subscribed to a module "contribute to OSM" in the OSMAnd+ application. It allows me to export the tracks on my account at openstreetmap.org. And from this platform I can download each tracks and use it like I want. It take time, but it works

By the way, I'm using the samsung galaxy note3 with Android 5.0
