Hi,
I use the c:geo program for geocaching. This program allows the use of external maps to look for caches, and worked flawlessly with Osmand+ 1.1.3 beta. Now, I was utterly dismayed that Osmand+ 1.2 beta no longer does this, instead reporting "nothing found" and displaying a blank screen.
I hope that this will be addressed in a future update, or I will need to reinstall 1.1.3 to go caching, which is disappointing-

Hi,

I'm new to OsmAnd and c:geo and wonder how this works.
In c:geo I tried to set the OSM offline path but c:geo reports "nothing found" after it scanned the directories.

I'm using latest releases available in GooglePlay: OsmAnd 1.2.1 and c:geo 2013.04.03

Does it require OsmAnd+ or any special setting or map?

Thanks in advance!
Andreas

This is strange, it should not require OsmAnd+.  You could check some previous and current release from http://download.osmand.net/releases/ and say if it works with others.
That is a known bug for  1.2.0 but for other it should work.

It works fine Victor.
C:geo only supports osmand to navigate to a specific Cache.
You have to open a Cache and then select navigate to (external map).
Osmand will appear in the list.

Hi,

sorry, but I can't get it to work. Is there anything I have to configure in Osmand or c:geo?
In c:geo I open the list of my stored caches, long-press on one, select "Navigate" and the select "Show on ext. map". Now Google Maps opens. I guess there should be a select box before where I can choose between GMaps and Osmand?

Best regards,
Andreas

Hi

Does the c:geo supported in latest 1.3.1 dev version?
Seems when I open Google Maps and would like to share some place I did not get OsmAnd or OsmAnd+ in the list.

Areg

Why do you think it is geo intent? Google Maps could easily use different intent.

c:geo is name of application, did you try it there?

Hi Victor

Seems I bit lost in terminology.
The thing is that when I am trying to share some location from Google Maps I see a lot of applications but not OsmAnd.

When I send it by mail I am getting these content:
>>>312 Cambridge Rd, Fulbourn, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB21 5ED, UK
>>>http://goo.gl/maps/HU5vS

I just thinking is this link can be passed to OsmAnd?

If there is another way to share location between Google Maps and OsmAnd please let know if I am not aware.

Regards,
Areg

Hi,

I finally got it working!
The problem was that I must have chosen to always use Google Maps somewhere back in time. I didn't find a way to change this setting but after installing and trying some other map apps the dialog to choose the map app opened again if I want to open a geocache location stored in c:geo in an ext. map.

Best regards,
Andreas
