The free and paid versions store their data in different directories. If I remember correctly, when I upgraded, it did copy all of my data, but that was many versions ago. It is possible that a bug exists in more recent versions.
You can copy your old data files (places, tracks, etc.) yourself, and the paid version will see the files and use them.
Which version of Android are you using? The exact location of the old and new version directories depends on the version of Android you have.

Ich habe soeben das update von OsmAnd auf OsmAnd+ gemacht.
Meine Einstellungen, "Meine Orte" und die lokal gespeicherten Karten sind in OsmAnd+ nicht vorhanden. Ich habe jetzt beide Versionen parallel installiert? Ich hatte die free Version zum testen verwendet, und bin jetzt enttäuscht, das die reingesteckte Arbeit umsonst war!

Mini me, your data should still be there, in the directory Eric mentioned. You should be able to find that data/* directory in a top- level folder called Android.
