Hi everyone,

I like OsmAnd a lot. But during the time I use it I had to change 3 or 4 mobile phones. Each time when I install OsmAnd on a new phone I have to adjust settings to meet my needs. Also I loose my favorites, gpx, audio/video notes. Is there a way to sync all these without copying files from sdcard from an old phone to a new one? Could it be developed as a plugin?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

I transferred everything from my old phone to my new one over Bluetooth.

You could also use Google Drive/ Dropbox/ etc.

Jack, are there instructions on how to do either of these?  Could you share where to find this?

I'm new to Osmand+ and trying to learn the ins and outs of an app with may options.

Thanks.
B.

What always worked for me is to use BTSync (previously) and now Syncthing.
To me that's the ideal way to keep all your devices in sync.

As always with synchronization tools: You really should make a backup first of the files under synchronization before starting anything.
You don't want to end up messing up your precious data files.

Indeed, support for saving those to owncloud would be great,

Hi,

I am using FolderSync for this purpose - it can backup or sync the sdcard files to about every networked storage out there.

Jindřich,

Thanks, I do have FolderSync.

Where do I find the folders to sync? I'm using Android 6.0.1.

Is this somewhere in the documentation? I haven't been able to find this.

Thanks again,
B.

Tracks and favorites are in Osmand data dir, shown in Settings/General/Data storage folder.

Usually it is "osmand" subdirectory in sdcard root (which is either real sd card or emulated).
