How do I view/select offline maps?

I am using OsmAnd+ version 1.5.2 beta on Android 4.3  I can't seem to figure out how to view offline maps. I have downloaded maps of Belize and Japan for upcoming travel. I would like to be able to view these maps but cant figure out ho to do it. I did read the wiki but didn't see plaything telling me how to select the map.

Pretty sure I was able to do this when I used the app in the past.

For me "using" is simply having the map and pointing the map there. It it "just there". 

What do you see? Blank map? Isn't it possible that the file is corrupted? 

When OsmAnd starts it "indexes" the newly downloaded maps, it takes at least a few seconds, if it doesn't then the map isn't there. You can check in the data management as well whether it's visible for OsmAnd.

Have you tried to find any address via the built-in offline address search in Osmand?

If you can choose a placename and even a street name, the you will be zoomed to that place.

Also check ALL settings in Osmand app.
