live updates causing crashes

I'm in Massachusetts, US. I use the F-Droid build and contribute to
OSM. I use the standard map and live updates.

Today I went someplace and OsmAnd behaved normally. I made some notes
and a POI edit, not uploaded. At home, I edited with josm and deleted
my notes. At some point, I noticed that OsmAnd was laggy, didn't
display POIs or house numbers, and crashed a lot.

I disabled live updates and it was still troubled.
I removed the Massachusetts map and it was ok, but bare.
I re-downloaded the Massachusetts standard map and it was ok.
I enabled live updates and it became laggy/no-POIs.

So it seems that with what is being served for live updates today,
OsmAnd has trouble and this trouble persists even after live updates are
disabled.

I know things have been interesting in the database the last few days,
but it seems there's a bug in there.
