Can someone remind me how to resolve this problem, please?
Bizarre rendering of features near sea level.  Areas seemingly flooded (though obviously not actually).  It is an issue which randomly occurs periodically at various locations.
Example attached is at Dittisham, UK, 50.38466, -3.59745 .
Thanks
Paul W

Hello! Thank you for the feedback.
Unfortunately, it can't be solved quickly. Usually, issues like this "flooding" are linked to issues with the coastline in source data at osm.org. I have forwarded the issue to the developers we will find the issue and fix it, but it would be available only with map updates.

Thank you for your response.  Understood.
I'll look forward to the resolution.

The rendering in the general area is still useless.  Large areas are shown as underwater, though in reality they are well above it.  Is it not time that this was resolved?  Can a solution not be implemented?  How long do we have to wait?

Hello!
You can try to use OpenGL rendering, you can enable it in Menu – Plugins – OsmAnd Development – Use OpenGL rendering, restart OsmAnd.

Dmytro - Thank you.  A bit of a nuisance to have to do it that way, but that works OK for me.  Are there any disadvantages/consequences?

No, this is the new rendering engine, currently, it's in beta stage (thats why you need to enable it manually). But we continue to work on it, issues with rendering like yours from the first message now will be fixed only in OpenGL.

That is most encouraging, thanks Dmytro.  I'll be happy to use the Beta while looking forward to its eventual full release.
I'm a long-term fan and ambassador of Osmand.
I use it mainly for cycling (leisure/touring, preferably on surfaced tracks, nothing athletic).  Also nautical, and occasionally car/trailer mode.
Keep up the good work, especially if you can avoid making the app updates any bigger!  IMHO, reducing app file-size would enlarge the potential "audience".
Regards

> Dmytro - Open GL Rendering  seems to produce distorted presentation.  Is this always the case?  If so, I don't want it and would strongly advise resisting it's universal adoption.

i will disagree with this new openGL engine. New osmand app 4.2 has increased the file size over 80%, probably and the battery consumption. It has also bugs and a few crashes. As we all have seen for over 20 years, PND or smartphones, for outdoor activities use 2D maps. If we choose city navigation.... YES, apps like sygic or tomtom use 3D maps.

That's why, i will suggest to osmand company to stop using 4.2 version and continue to improve the old 4.1 with features like the new settings from 4.2 version. If osmand company believes to 3D maps for some users (?), they can open a new page at playstore, with this new version of "Osmad 3D navigation"

New 4.2 osmand has made to to return to apps like orux or locus for app stability and battery autonomy.

Hi! It seems you have enabled 2.5D mode, currently, it can be enabled or disabled by swiping up or down with two fingers on the map screen. The current night build has a button to switch between 2.5D and 2D mode and a new option to disable 2.5D at all.

The new rendering engine can be disabled in OsmAnd Development settings, it is not only about 3D but also about fast map rendering.
If you have issues with the current release, you can contact us at sup...@osmand.net or open issues on GitHub https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd/issues

Hi !
I have enabled OpenGL 2 but on the map I cannot see 2.5D, it still shows the view from the top.
Why is that ?
