Hi All,
I'm glad to announce that functionality is ready to test, please pay attention to
Right now you need to enable plugin "SRTM data" (we need to put description there, for english version as well) and go to "Download Manager" there in menu you can select other downloads and "SRTM files".
I think the plugin will be distributed as a different apk (as Parking Plugin right now) and it will be more descriptive.
Also clear separation will help us branching application. However application is still monolithic in sense that all code is present in OsmAnd.

There is no need. The plugin functionality lives in OsmAnd. This is empty package mostly like and identificator.

At the moment, it is very difficult to find out, which elevation files are already installed.
Are there ideas, to enhance this?

Why would you want to have it as an empty package? Why not just make it an option in (default) OsmAnd without having to download a seperate, empty, APK to get it to work?

It should not be very difficult. Open download activity and see how many tiles are downloaded from specific region.
14/15 (14 already downloaded). Regions overlap too much so it is only feasible way to display it.

But: To download, I select a country/region and get al lot of files, which looses connection to country/region.
O.K. so far.
To check, what county/region, I already have downloaded, I have to look for entries, where the number before an after the slash are equal, in a very long list.
Would it be possible, to give those entries a different colour?
Green for example, as downloaded and up to date maps?
And yellow for countries/regions with partial downloaded?

Good point.
Now it is "filtered downloaded" and shows green when it is partially downloaded. Because some countries can't have "N/N" - all downloaded. That's why green is only one indicator.

I just wanted to confirm that I need to download OSMAnd from the nightly build in order to access SRTM functionality. That it is is not available currently from version 1. Is this correct?

SRTM plugin is actually part of OsmAnd (separate application is just the indicator for OsmAnd to enable plugin).

I have the plugin APK installed from https://code.google.com/p/osmand/downloads/detail?name=Osmand-SRTMPlugin-1.0-1.apk but it is with old icon.
I just would like to have it updated too.
