What is the method to store recorded tracks in monthly folders?
It used to happen OK but hasn't done so recently, and I can't find it in any menu.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have the same problem.

I have recorded tracks going back to 2016, but the October 2019 folder ends with the track on the 25th and the remaining tracks are in the "Rec" folder.

As a result I have some tracks from October 2019 plus all the following tracks to date in the "Rec" folder.

Osmand used to create the monthly folders automatically and then transfer the relevant tracks.

My phone is a Huawei Mate 10 Plus running EMUI 9.1 and Osmand+ 3.5.5.

I've just checked my settings and discovered that something alse has changed with regard to track recording
If I go into the Driving base profile and alter the setting "Auto-record track during navigation" to tick the box to activate this function, I then get the option to apply this to all profiles or only the one selected.
Using the "Apply to all profiles" option seems to de-activate this function for everything and on my phone I have just found out that I need to go into each profile that is relevant and activate track recording separately for each profile. The global option to select the auto tracking doesn't seem to work as I had expected.
I'm not sure when this changed, but I obviously missed it.

However, it does not change the fact that Osmand is not automatically creating new monthly folder for track storage (on my phone at least) sinceOctober.

Any advice would be appreciated

Graeme

Plugin manager -> GPX-track -> 3-dot vertical menu behind it -> Settings

Select the profile for your settings (hiking or whatever)
Move down to "Track Storage Folder" -> Select the 2nd option "tracks per month per map".
Save, and select "for all profiles" or "only this profile"
(Instructions translated back from Dutch to English)

Hello Harry
Thank you for that info.
On my (UK based) device, I get:-

Short version:-
Menu, Plugins, Trip recording, Settings, select a profile, Track storage folder, select a storage option, select how to apply it.

Fuller explanation:-
Begin at the main menu (Hamburger at bottom left of screen - Begins with "Dashboard, Map markers", etc)
Near the bottom find "Plugins"
It begins with "Online maps, Trip recording", etc.
In Trip recording, on the left find "Settings".
In Profile Specific Settings, select a profile, eg Cycling.
Scroll way down to "Track  storage folder".
Select an option eg "Store recorded tracks in Monthly folders".
Opt for "Apply to all folders" or Apply only to Cycling".
Done!

Previously recorded tracks are still sitting in a long list in "Rec", but hopefully all future tracks will file themselves as requested.
Thanks Harry

Good you made it work.
You can always use a file manager to create the now missing folders and move the tracks from Rec to their relevant month folder.

Installed "File Manager" 2.0.0.397_180123 from Play Store.
It moved the files OK.
Hoping my next trip saves itself to the correct folder.
If it does, the case is closed.
Thanks again.
