Up to the version 1.9.3#8xxxD was available the link that was very convenient link at the bottom left of home screen

It was easy and fast update to the latest nightly build, I do this about ten times at day and take only two tap.

In version 2.0.0#8xxxD the links (and the attribution) are missing. So now I have to open a browser, open the url to the nightly build and download it, install, and after that delete the apk.

Please, con I have the direct link from the home page screen back? It was very very useful and let me save many time to spend in test and not in boring installation.

Thanks a lot.

Hi

They are moved to the about section.

There is About link at the left bottom when you scroll down.

In it the version number is the link or become a link when you tap on it multiple times.

Hi

Strange.

Here's screenshots of mine.

The version is link. Probably because I activated it in previous version?

Areg

I do not have a version ad a link, and I did tap it many times.

I had activated update link in 1.9 nightlies as well, but i have uninstalled it - see my update/uninstall issues.
I may have been too fast, it would probably be enough to cancel device manager status and update as usually.

Ah seems that functionality not in the changed version.

Probably downgrade, activate link and upgrade again?

Hi

The "<boolean name="CONTRIBUTION_VERSION_FLAG" value="true" />" option is responsible for the link in About dialog.
It is in /data/data/net.osmand.net/shared_prefs/net.osmand.settings.xml file if you have root access.

Seems it was in "MainMenuActivity.java" and did not moved to the new design.

So in order to have it in place it is necessary or to put that line in the config file or downgrade to the older version for example http://download.osmand.net/night-builds/OsmAnd-master-nb-2014-12-04.apk and then click on the year at the right bottom of dashboard.

I've tried to update to the latest nighly build in a convient way by tapping on the build version but as you can see in the picture there's no link like mentioned before. Do I still have to downgrade to an earlier version or is there an other way to update?

Thanks in advance,
Ar Age

I can no longer tap it either. On my phone the link has disappeared and has become normal text.
Please remember that I was the one who menthioned this functionality here in this mailing list, after Victor had told me (it was not my own "discovery"), so please don't tell me I'm doing it wrong: It simply doesn't work anymore on my phone. The link has "disappeared" and is now normal text.

And to add to that:
- You can also access it from Settings->General Settings->About (but that doesn't change anything)
- It doesn't work either if I choose English (I thought that maybe due to the fact I'm using it in Dutch, some string/url might not be translated correctly. But no: in english it doesn't work either.)

Hi

I have looked to the code and seems it is removed during the Dashboard redesign.

Someone need to put it back.

Victor?

Areg
