Hi

I am using the latest versions of OsmAnd and OsmAnd~ (+) from the nightly builds and recently noticed that after the Favorites are changed to the My Places the Import and Export functionality for the Favorites are dissapeared.

Does someone know where it gone or it is disabled completely?

Sorry if this post creates any duplicates.

Regards,
Areg

You can use "Sharing" option and select your file manager app to save.

What about Import ??????????

I would like to import favorites from another device.

How I can do it now?

Import:
Doubelclick the file fouvourites.gpx in your filemanager, follow the instructions.

Thanks for information.

Looks quite complicated for me.

It was easier before - Export, Import....

Yes, you are right, manual import/export was easy to use.

In the newest Version of 1.8 I am asked every time, wether I want to save or import the gpx file. There is no possibility to cancel this process.

Use the system "Back" button which usually provides an abort or close if a window is open.

What do you mean with "doubleclick". Are you talking about Android or PC? If you mean PC it should depend on the program which associated with gpx. Otherwise can you please explain doubleclick on Android?

According to 1.8 Help,

"Smart merge of "Favorites.gpx" file (no export/import is needed favorites are always in sync)"

So,

To export, just share it
To import, jut drop the gpx file in osmand folder and it's supposed to smart sync it for you

Hi

"Doubelclick the file fouvourites.gpx in your filemanager, follow the instructions."

Yes, this works, but it is hardly obvious or convenient. It took me about half an hour of searching to find it here.

Please restore the Import/Export function to My Places so it is consistent with previous versions.

One thing is missing, the file must have the name favourites.gpx. Otherwise it is not working. But I imported yesterday five different gpx-files. The permanently renaming of the files is a little bit bothersome.

This question needs to be in the FAQ. Since there is no import in OSMAND (this method of importing favorites is outside of OSMAND), you are stuck trying to import favorites and you have to go look for the information on the net. The FAQ is the first place to look.

Hello Marteen,

I agree fully!

Due to lack of time: can anyone create the text (question and answer) that can be copied 1:1 into FAQ wiki?
Then integration is easy.

Stephan
