What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Launch osm2garmin.exe
2.A windows osm2garmin appears with "Loading cached object"
3.Nothing happens

If I launch the .exe with the command line, i just have warning message
about ignoring option PermSize=64M and MaxPermSize=256m (support was
removed in 8.0)

After many try, I have a BSOD....

I am using windows 7 64 bit, java jre and jdk 1.8.0_25

I am having the exact same problem with the same error messages.
Here is my command line:  "C:\Program Files\osm2garmin_1.2\bin\osm2garmin.exe" -d64-J-Xmx6g
The FAQ says to use --jdkhome "c:/Program Files/Java/jre1.8.0_25"  but that throws an immediate error saying it can't find that version

Current version of Osm2Garmin does not work with Java 1.8. Please use Java 1.7 instead. Your command line should look like:
"C:\Program Files\osm2garmin_1.2\bin\osm2garmin.exe" -J-Xmx6g --jdkhome "c:/Program Files/Java/jre7"

The default torrents url (http://osm-torrent.torres.voyager.hr/files/)
doesn't work anymore, do you recommand a new one for osm2garmin?

that I don't know how to compile them to install the soft.

In fact I never succeed to download maps (I need south america), I have the
folowing message:
Preparing region south_america directory.
Found 1 regions to process.
Planet file download started.
south_america contours update started.
Resuming broken download of planet-140919
Downloading SRTM map data.
SRTM map filled in with 14546 entries.
Bad response code from server 404 - Not Found.
