I went to the CUGOS [1] meeting wednesday night. There were nine of
us at the meeting, and it was commented that that's the lowest turnout
they've had since they formed.
We talked about GeoScript [2] which adds a layer to simplify working
with some GIS libraries. The GeoScript modules run on the JVM.
A comparison was talked about between serving up jpeg2000 imagery, and
tiffs.
Mention was made of a possible mapping event on Whidbey Island in
July. It sounds like it would be related to kite mapping, but may
include other things.
I enjoyed the talks and the meeting, and I'll probably go to the next
meeting as well.
