Hello,
I'm writing to share a proposed agenda for the upcoming
OpenTripPlanner working group meeting in Portland. We will be
gathering Wednesday, July 13th through Friday, July 15th at TriMet's
Holgate Facility
(4421 SE 17th Avenue). Directions and details will follow.
The agenda below is a first attempt at scheduling the numerous OTP-
related threads of conversation. Please feel free to make comments or
suggestions for changes.
Also, I'm happy to attempt to orient the schedule around participants'
travel plans. Please let me know if there is a topic of particular
importance to you that might present a conflict.
Wednesday 13th:
9-10am: Breakfast
10 -11am: Group introductions and OTP project overview. Each
participant provides a brief description of their work.
11am-12:30pm: Overview of recent OTP developments: a brief, semi-
technical talk about routing optimization, new features and other
contributions.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30-3:30pm: Detailed reports from OTP related work:
• CUTR’s “Enabling Cost-Effective Multimodal Trip Planners Through
Open Transit Data”
• TriMet’s OpenStreetMapdata collection project
• David Emory's demo of vector-based transit mapping software.
3:30-3:45: Break
3:45-5:30pm: Data collection and management
• Round-table discussion on data challenges and future needs for
management tools
• Demo of open source tools under development for the Atlanta metro
region.
• Real time schedule updates and service changes.
6pm: Happy Hour/Dinner TBD
Thursday 14th:
9-10am: Breakfast
10-11:30am: Planning for year ahead and OTP feature roadmap.
11:30am-12:30pm: Base maps, OpenStreetMap and geocoding: current
status and next steps.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30-3:30pm: Formalizing an OTP stakeholders group to guide future
development.
3:30-3:45: Break
3:45-5:30pm: Routing and optimization technical discussion. Detailed
review of recent changes and future plans.
6pm: Happy Hour/Dinner TBD
Friday 15th:
9-10am: Breakfast
10am-12:30pm: Improving OTP development process, source code
management, release process , etc.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch and Wrap-up

trains using any touch-tone phone. How to use it:
1. Dial 503-238-RIDE (7433).
2. Press "1" to select "English."
3. Press "1" to select "Transit Tracker arrival times."
4. Type in the Stop ID number of the bus stop or MAX station you want
information about. If you don't know the Stop ID, press the "#" key
and follow the instructions to find your stop.
5. The system will list arrival times for the bus and MAX lines
serving that stop.
