TriMet is hiring an entry level GIS Technician Position whose main responsibilities will include: OpenStreetMap (OSM) data maintenance and related datasets; collaboration with the OSM community as a contributing member; collaboration with regional jurisdictions; GIS data and mapping requests. Knowledge of PostGIS, SQL, OSM editing tools such as JOSM, and Python is not required, but will be considered.

OSM data maintenance will largely be in support of regional efforts and TriMet systems that utilize OSM including: Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) system; Call Center and Field Trip applications; LIFT paratransit mobile data terminals (MDTs); multimodal trip planning; and fixed route scheduling system for on-street service.
