Hi All,

Just an update with the server.

New UPS installed.  Had to wait approx 3 weeks for one and then another
week for someone to be available to install it.

New watchdog installed.  Should automatically turn on the server if it
locks up or does not turn back on after a power outage.  I can also turn
the server on remotely via this.  Tested today all worked as it should.

I'm still about 2000kms away from the server and not likely to be back
there until middle of next month now.  At which time I will be replacing
the HDDs with SDDs.

Sometime after I get back I will be looking at changing the power supply
for the server to a solar battery system with grid backup. This will
depend on availability of the hybrid inverter as I have every thing else
in place.

Hi All,

So after all the good work updating the ups and watchdog it appears the
router which connects the server to the internet has issues.

It's not responding remotely and I don't have anyone able to look at it
until next week.


So this means that editing will not be possible unfortunately.

So that fosm.org and map.fosm.org actually go to somewhere on the
internet can you change the ip address in the dns to:

59.167.220.189

This is the static map address.

When the server moves over to use SSDs, I hope we will be able to turn
on some new XAPI features I've implemented. The indices do take more
space though at around at extra ~119Gb.

It only took me ... err several years to figure out how to do this in
postgis :)

Ross, probably the best option is to reinitialize the database on the
SSD drive from a planet dump, then pause the edit API and import the
recent changes into the new database. We might also want to do a dry run
of the procedure before moving over.
