no more gratis access to nearmap

It looks like nearmap has pulled the plug on the gratis use of its imagery.

The license agreement for paid customers still says "If you derive
information from observing our PhotoMaps, and include that information
in a work, you will own that work.", so if people have bought the
appropriate license they can still legally choose to license it CC-BY-SA
2.0 and upload it to fosm.

However I don't know if that is any good for the community, because some
members of the community may have more privileged access to contribute
than others.

From my point of view not a good buy, the closest Nearmap has been to
my parish is about 150km.
However, it doesn't mean that its not good value for money,
particularly if we had 5 persons who particularly enjoyed working on
maps that way.

Yes, I can see that as the core question. How many of us use NearMap and have the spare cash available. I would probably be interested if we had enough people
