new api server active

Hi All,

The new api server is now online for editing.

There should be no need to change anything in josm.

If you come across anything unusual or different from what you expect
then please email the list.

Josm is not working for me. I can ping api.fosm.org, but when I start josm I get an error message of a connection refused message on opening http://api.fosm.org/api/capabilities.

It also will not download for the same reason.

Josm worked fine before the switch of api servers and I have completed the migration, although authentication is not required to start josm, so that is not the issue.

Hi Roy,

Try with http://fosm.org/api in josm preferences.

Also can you access http://api.fosm.org/api/capabilities in a browser, you should get an xml file returned.

Which version of josm?

Asking all these as I'm not having any problems accessing api.fosm.org or fosm.org from josm or browser and the connection refused is more likely a firewall issue.

Ok. http://fosm.org/api works both in josm 13878 and firefox, but not http://api.fosm.org/api.

Interestingly if I ping api.fosm.org (46.43.35.239) I get a response, but none for fosm.org (59.167.172.127).

Wireshark shows 46.43.35.239 ( AsustekC_81:40:70) is responding with a RST,ACK.

I think your dns is out of date then as dig gives:

;; ANSWER SECTION:
api.fosm.org.        255    IN    A    59.167.172.127

and if I ping api.fosm.org it goes to the same ip.

There should not be a ping response from fosm.org as it's disabled at the moment, tracepath should work.

The ip 46.43.35.239 is the old api server, I think.
