I've noticed new data in brouter-web Data tab. In addition to estimated_traffic_class we have:

estimated_forest_class
estimated_noise_class
estimated_town_class
estimated_river_class

How is this supposed to work? For example, is estimated_forest_class related to ,,tree density'' or something like this? Could it be used, e.g., for upwind routing?

I was asking myself the same question this morning and this is quite technical. If you go here on github you will notice in this commit from 2023-07-06 that the file misc/scripts/mapcreation/brouter.sql had significant changes. And in these changes, we see new stuff that allows to compute forest_class, river_class and so on.

This file allows us to understand how these (and the estimated_traffic_class that is much older) are computed: in fact, the distance of each way to any industrial area/tertiary area/populated area/"green area"/river and so on is used to estimate these factors.
