Hi all,
Would love to let all current residents know about a few POCUS teaching opportunities that are upcoming-
For
the OSLER residents, I would think that this could serve as additional teaching credit.
It would be a great way for you all to build up additional skills serving as a small group instructor for these teaching sessions! If interested, let me know. You can help deliver part of the didactic and/or guide small groups on how to scan.
First, a 3-workshop series for Stanford PA year-2 students, on an introductory course to POCUS.
Each session is broken into two groups of ~15 of 2 hour duration each (ie: 1:30-3:30, 3:30-5:30) -
9/15/22 - 1:30-5:30p - intro/physics, FAST
9/22/22 - 1:30-5:30p - AAA, GB
9/29/22 - 1:30-5:30p - Cardiac, lung
Second, a primary care POCUS course for medical students in the FM clerkship, specifically soft tissue and foreign body, and renal/bladder. (~10 learners or less each session.)

Lastly, if there are any interested residents in wanting to spend elective time with me in an acute clinic at SFM and learn about POCUS integration, I am happy to work with you, please reach out! (Torsten recently spent time with me so can
ask him on his experience)
All the best,
