Hi Cornelius,

we are very happy that you give OSIAM a try. The issue you are encountering is really strange. Could you provide the catalina.out log file (located in /var/log/tomcat7/catalina.out)? It seems that the webapps have not been deployed correctly.

Hi,
I tried to setup osiam 0.21 on an ubuntu 12.04.

The postgres DB is setup,

The .war's are in place:

    % ls /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps
    osiam-auth-server/  osiam-auth-server.war  osiam-resource-server/  osiam-resource-server.war  ROOT/

The configuration is done:

   % ls /etc/osiam
   auth-server.properties  resource-server.properties

The /etc/tomcat7/catalina.properties is adapted.
Tomcat is restarted.

When I now do a call

   $ curl http://localhost:8080/osiam-resource-server/ServiceProviderConfigs



I get a 404.
What am I missing?

I am absolutely now Java or even tomcat guy! ;-)

Hello Thomas,

sorry for my late answer.
I am not the java or tomcat guy, so I always need some time to get started.
I just want to improve the SCIM resolver for my project privacyIDEA.

To me it looks like there is an error during the tomcat daemon startup.
When I try to call the resouce, there is not entry written to the log file anymore.

Hello Cornelius,

the issue is simple: You are using a wrong Java version. I assume that you are using Java 6, but OSIAM only runs on Java 7 or newer. Please try to install Java 7 and remove Java 6 from your System (as support for Java 6 ran out some time ago anyway). This should solve your issue.

Now i get this error:

Hi Cornelius,

seems, that the database is not correctly configured.
(net.ConnectException: Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt')

Please check the config values in /etc/osiam-*.properties
org.osiam.auth-server.db.url=jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/<YOUR_DATABASE_NAME>
org.osiam.auth-server.db.username=<YOUR_DATABASE_USERNAME>
org.osiam.auth-server.db.password=<YOUR_DATABASE_PASSWORD>

and ensure, that postgres allows tcp connections
(/etc/postgresql/*/main/pg_hba.conf)


We are already working on debian packages for a smoother installation ;-)

shame on me.
Finally it was quite easy. I just had to start postgres again! ;-)

So indeed the original problem was the old java version.
