Block the Boat Coalition is planning another Israeli ZIM Ship picket at the port.

They are the group that organized the successful August 16 Zim Ship picket, which ultimately led to 5 days of picketing, and only a small fraction of cargo unloaded!

Stop Zim Action Committee, the group that organized the successful September 27 picket that sent the ZIM Shanghai out to sea in one day without a container unloaded, will be supporting this October picket, and will help to sustain the picket multiple days, if needed, if the ZIM ship remains in our Oakland port beyond October 25.  

Please join this very powerful campaign that is putting enormous economic strain on the Israeli Zim shipping line and ultimately huge pressure on Israel, expressing global intolerance of the occupation and criminal violations against the people of Palestine.

Another victory:  LA activists had a very successful ZIM ship blockade last weekend, delaying unloading for 2 full days.

ILWU workers made history when they refused to unload South African cargo in San Francisco in 1984. This action was a major catalyst for global anti-apartheid solidarity movement. The Israeli owned ZIM shipping line regularly docks and unloads its cargo at the Port of Oakland. ZIM shipping line was not only instrumental in the creation of the state of Israel and ethnic cleansing of Palestine, but it also is responsible for shipping Israeli weaponry that is used on poor, black and brown communities all across the US. As we challenge militarism and policing from Ferguson to Oakland, lets also take a stand against the relationship between Israel and the US and its impact on our communities.
