We are in desperate need of more Bradley Manning pride parade contingent monitors, we need about 30 more. We are going to need 30-50 of them for our contingent which is looking really big at this point. If we do not have them, we can not march. If you already told me you can not do this please ask any friends or members of your organization who might be interested. Please shoot me an email at mic...@couragetoresist.org telling me if you and/or your friends plan on doing this with your phone numbers so I can keep track and make sure we have enough. Below is the schedule for the trainings, please get it done as early as you can. We should be listed as Courage to Resist and/or Bradley Manning Support Network when you sign in and make sure to do that when you are there or else it will not count. Please forward to any friends who maybe interested in doing this, we will need all monitors we can get. Please let me know when you have completed the training.

We need you! Please Help!

Welcome to SF LGBT Pride!

Hello folks, enclosed is the listing of current contingent monitor trainings scheduled.  There will likely be some updates posted, so keep an eye on our website (sfpride.org -- click on the Parade tab at the top for the menu selection).

Contingent Monitor Trainings are required for participating in the SF Pride Parade, and the formula to follow is train 2 contingent monitors for every 25 people marching with you.  So 2 for 25 and below, 4 for 26 to 50, 6 for 51 to 75, and 8 for 76 to 100.  Above 100 continues to follow the formula.  If you have a vehicle or two, you also need to train additional volunteers as wheel monitors.  One for each tire (two per axle).  They cannot hold or pass out items, as they need to be hands-free and remain beside the wheels.

Each Contingent Monitor training runs about an hour, and we advise getting to the venue early to make sure you get a seat.  When we reach capacity, we will need to turn people away.  Do not wait until the last training to attend, and risk being unable to get into the training!

If you wish to donate your new skills to SF Pride during your wait before your contingent heads out on the Parade route, or after your contingent has dispersed, please stay for the second hour of training for Safety Monitors, if offered on your night and at your venue.

You do not need to RSVP to attend, you will fill out a required attendance card during the training.

The remaining 2013 training calendar to look like this.

Saturday, June 15 @ 11 AM / SF Public Library, Koret Auditorium / 100 Larkin St, SF

Sunday, June 16 @ 1 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Monday, June 17 @ 7 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Wednesday. June 19 @ 7 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Thursday, June 20 @ 7 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Saturday, June 22 @ 1 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Sunday, June 23 @ 1 PM / SF Public Library, Koret Auditorium / 100 Larkin St, SF

Monday, June 24 @ 7 PM / The Center, Rainbow Room / 1800 Market St, SF

Tuesday, June 25 @ 7 PM / Bench and Bar presented by Oakland Pride / 510 17th St, Oakland

Wednesday, June 26 @ 6:30 PM / Google / 1200 Crittenden Lane, Mountain View

You don't need to register for a specific training, just show up.  I do recommend you show up early though, and soon!  Later trainings tend to get overcrowded, and we have to turn people away.

Special trainings will be set up to accommodate late-arriving out-of-towners. Non-Bay Area contingents can email me for more information, or with any further questions.

Cordially,

Marsha H. Levine
