This link is an excellent analysis by professor Choussudovsky on what is really going on in Syria. I had the pleasure of meeting Professor
Choussudovsky in 1994 in Madrid, during the alternative events to the 50thaniversay of the IMF and WB, and he seemed to me a most honest person and a very knowledgeable  and deep analyst.  On the other hand, I am well aware and have retained in my memory, my own father's good remarks about his stay in Syria. During the last years of his life (the late 80s), when  he travelled to several Arab countries, and he spoke with endearment at the attempts at social equality in that country and its many diverse intitiatives to rid people of poverty and to create equality between men and women....Lybia was a secular state (and Gaddafi was no Saint, sure, but I never saw Lybians asking for a job in Barcelona, whereas I have seen thousands of Moroccans and Tunisians doing so- and suddenly Gaddafi seemed like "Sadam himslef" a kind of "Satan" as portrayed by the same that are now demonizing Syria) and Syria is asecular state...it seems clear to me - and even more seeing what the covert war in Latin American countries has been and the grim results of hundredsof thousands (if not millions) of "disposable" non-white poor people, what is at stake here. As the indigenolus of the Cauca have said, I make it my logo: "Count on me for peace, NEVER FOR WAR". I do not doubt, as Choussudovsky enlightens us,  that many so called  "insurgent acts by the rebels" may have been covert operations by death squads and other criminal organizations, conveniently "privatized"... The Syrian government is made to look like  a monstrous inhumane criminal all of a sudden, too much like in cheap American films.. In the mean time .Blackwater is receiving a quarter of a billion annual dollars from the US, the killer at Colorado was a neo-nazi engaged in covert operations before he went on his killing spree (explained by Amy Goodman in her democracy Now today) , such as many Mexican and Colombian generals and narco-leaders have worked and been US financed  to impose political agendas in Mexico that benefit "trade", "drug trade", and keep a cheap Mexican labor force,  and to  impose political agendas empowering  fundamentalist enforced  religion and fascism of all the worst kind...it is a repeated strategy and a repeated political agenda to not only rob people all over the globe  of our long and costly acquired rights but to eliminate millions of "disposable" non white poor populations....

Please let us get well acquainted with this new privatized ,outsourced and unmanned imperialism and global war machine, before we start  talking  about "blood-thirsty" Arab governments, and let us quickly and urgently educate others about all  these "coincidences"....

Much love, and PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!

Angelina

Angelina,
With respect, My feeling is that Nato, the UN and yes, god forbid, the U.S. have all gotten it right this time re the Arab Spring. Except that when the Syrian rebels were begging us for help we stood by while they were slaughtered.
There's an extreist left wing which is so blinded by their own political views, they cannot accept that we (u.s.) can actually get things right sometimes. These folks are the same that blindly supported Stalin and the Cultural revolution.
I prey to whatever God there is that we step up to the plate and put a bullet into the Psychotath which now rules Syria. And that the slaughter of innocent children will come to an end.
Am I "mislead by the right wing media"? No more than those who would let this tragedy continue

Yea I agree on this. The only thing we've done by not providing weapons to the insurgents is to strengthen the hardline islamists' position, and the Syrian Army's (who now get their armements from the Russkies) I don't think it always hold that the "friend of my enemy is my enemy"or vice versa. Wow! Its scary that I actually agree with John McCane...on anyhting!
