Just informative - this was the status from Nick on September 22.

But now we take the most simple way to a working prototype. So maybe we will not need the relationships module and to use the CiviCRM API.

Hi Nikolay, sorry I haven't gotten back to you in a while as I've been
busy with other things.

I think I'm at a point where the two things that remained to be done
were to figure out:

1) how to add relationships (relationships module is not for D7 or
maybe use civicrm relationships). i assume using civicrm relationships
is a good solution but haven't looked into it

2) how to use the civicrm API directly to take people to paypal to pay
for their microdonation on the special content type rather than in
special Civicrm forms. this is something i searched about for a while
and asked on the freenode #civicrm channel but i haven't been able to
find an answer. i suppose the next step would be to take apart the
generated civicrm forms to see how aspects of them could be integrated
into either rules module or the content type directly, etc.

Again, sorry that my progress on this has basically stopped. If you
ever find someone who has more experience implementing the parts of
the civicrm api that connect to payments I'd certainly be interested
in talking to them to see if there's anything i could offer further
other than the general recipe i posted in the list for using rules to
do certain things
