IMPORTANT: Governance

Folks,

In today's meeting, the governance proposal was adopted.  This means significant changes in our structure.  Two new committees are now forming, Governance, and Progressive Political.

The initial members of each committee will be selected by "hand raising" and lack of objection.

 

If you are interested in being part of the Governance or Progressive Political committees, you need to raise your hand by notifying me via email by Monday August 5^th 12pm Pacific / 3pm Eastern.

 

The hands that have already been raised are:

Governance Committee

Salsa, Amicus, Wufm, Catalist

Progressive Committee

Catalist, Salsa, Amicus, WUFM, Trilogy, Mobile Commons

 

At that time I will send the slate of nominees to this group.  If you object to any nomination, you need to notify me via email by Thursday August 8^th 1145am pacific / 2:45 pm eastern (15min before our meeting)

 

At the beginning of the meeting on Thursday August 8^th the initial members of each committee will be announced.

At that point, new members will be added to the appropriate committee email lists.  Each committee can then evaluate any contested nominations.

 

Next week's meeting will be the first meeting of the Industry Tech Committee (ITC), the following week's meeting will be the first meeting of the Progressive Political Meeting (PPC).

Note: this is flipped from our discussion in today's meeting.  It needs to be this way to make the timeline work and so people get to know what committees they are members of before those committees meet J

After that I'll be sending out the nominations.
