Would anyone be interested in an informal meeting at the pub or somewhere with this guy, could combine it with an OSDGC meeting to discuss Barcamp preparations too.

Hello Mr Dalton!

I'm a Ph.D. student from Finland and I'm coming to Gold Coast for some
co-operation negotiations with a researcher from the Griffith University in
about a week from now, and if the negotiations are successful, I would be
coming there for a semester or two next year.

Anyways, I'm a Linux enthusiast and active in our small LUG in Jyvaskyla,
Finland. It would be nice to meet some local Linux and technology persons,
so if you have the time and want to join me for a beer or dinner or
something, let me know :)
I'll be there on Gold Coast at least on 20-21th of June, but maybe also
from 27/6 till 30/6. I'd definitely be there for the BarCamp, but
unfortunately my plane tickets don't allow any changes, so I have to come
back to Finland before that.

Sorry - I really should read emails properly - you are not there for Barcamp... that's a shame. I'll see if I can get an informal GCLUG meeting together at the pub or something - we also have a group called OSDGC (Open Source Developers Gold Coast) on the Coast that does meet semi-regularly.
