Hey guys,

I am using Cooja to simulate the communication between different nodes.
The radio packet logger is nice, but looking at hex-dumps all the times
tends to be annoying.

Is there a way to get the radio packets from Cooja into Wireshark for
analysis? Can this be done only offline or also online?

Hello Bastian,

I have a very baisc pcap exporter in COOJA that I am
using when I need to do debugging of 6LoWPAN/IPv6
based communication. I will add it to the main CVS
soon, so that you also can use it.

You should also be able to debug using the built-in
6lowpan analyzer in COOJA. Then you will see both
802.15.4 addresses as well as what type of messages
you send (as long as it is 802.15.4 + IPv6).
This is configurable in the radiologger. The pcap
exporter will be another "analyzer" but one that also
exports a pcap file.

Best regards,

Hello Joakim,

I find this email on Cooja and Wireshark. Could you explain which tool
is necessary to use for the pcap exporter in cooja?

best regards,

Mathieu

Hello,

You just need to use the radio logger and select the 6lowpan analyser
with pcap export. This analyser will write a pcap file to disk in the
folder where COOJA is executing.

Then just load the file into Wireshark and you should be able to
look at all the packets.

Best regards,

is there any parser that can be used to extract information from the pcap
