Dear friends,

In this time of exigency, how can we use open source and collective intelligence approaches to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, in its scientific and societal dimensions? Can we create a sort of MOOR (Massive Open Online Research)  for COVID-19?   

Science is built on sharing.  Open source approaches are coming to the fore.  Please join us for a call.

Some possible scientific areas of interest:

-          an open approach to repurposing off-patent drugs/molecules, combining in silico work with later stages.  Can we generate a larger and more diverse set of promising hypotheses?  Can we identify additional candidates that have potential?

-          research working with the huge numbers of people who are at home, and not in the health system

-          open computational analysis of public health data

-          work involving Sub Saharan Africa or South Asia, which may be hard hit in the future

-          other
