Hi together!
I am currently working on my master thesis with oSCR and camera trap data, so i am still a newbie :/

My models are working fine, but i have a few problems to use D~Covariates in oSCR.fit - function.
I only can use D~1 and D~session.
I e.g. wanted to plot D~forest cover.

So: My data is based on Camera traps in the middle of 500x500 grids. For each grid, i have covariates like forest cover [%], agricultual cover [%] or distance to next building [m].
I am currently unsure how to add these covariates to my ssDF.
I used ssDF with res = 100 and res = 250. For this purpose i could reload the covariates from GIS to the finer grid. Can I just add them to the ssDF via join function? Or how does it work??

Sorry for this maybe rather stupid question :)

Hi Jules,

There is a previous post with some code for extracting SS covariates from background rasters here:

I think the issue is that you have defined covariates for your traps, which means you can model variation in detectability using those covariates, but in order to model density as a function of covariates, you need to make sure every pixel in your state's base has a value.

Let me know whether that makes sense and is of any use?
