I'm looking for a talk here by Paul Frields on this page
http://opensourcebridge.org/events/2009/sessions He tells me his talk
has been accepted, but I don't see it.

Would it be possible to add another sort option for "by speaker"?
This would provide the ability to see other talks by the same speaker
or locate a speaker you've heard is speaking to find out what their
talk is about.

I'm this is the wrong place to request RFEs please direct me to the
bug tracker.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

I think it is reasonable to post to this group. That said, there is an
issue tracker:

His talk is not listed as a session because he hasn't confirmed it. He
needs to send an email to "spea...@opensourcebridge.org" to confirm
that he's giving it. We've contacted him at least twice about this. Can
you please ask him to do this?

I don't know how. A talk can be given by multiple speakers, and I don't
know which of the speakers to sort by. E.g., if a talk is given by
speakers with the last names Abrams and Zawinski, do I sort this under
"A", "Z" or something else?

You can drill down to the user and see what talks each person is giving
on their profile, for example, Paul's profile lists his proposal:
http://opensourcebridge.org/users/170

At some point, we'd like to add server-side search, rather than having
users rely on their browser's search, but this has been a lower priority
compared to more pressing needs.

This is a reasonable place to bring up this request. Thanks for
reporting this.

He tells me he has replied twice. Once to Selena.

Audrey's just upgraded the status of Paul's proposal to a session, and
sent him email. His talk is now listed on the sessions listing.

We're addressing the backlog of confirmations now, there were a couple
of other affected sessions.

Thanks for notifying us.

I was thinking of it more like an index.... a list of names in alpha
order. You click on a name and you see the talks they are giving. If
more than one name points to the same talk it doesn't really matter.
I see your point though about how it would look on the screen compared
to the other sorts.

That does work nice

Understood re: priority which led me to ask about a bug tracker. I was
using the browser method to locate Paul, but now we know that even if
there had been a sort by author way it still would not have helped me
:)

Thanks,
John
