Dear All,

I am a beginner learning to design systems using AADL. However, right from the first steps, I’m facing some issues. While trying to run basic AADL examples, I encounter errors, and I’m not sure whether the problem is with my modeling or the installation of AADL itself.

I have followed the official OSATE documentation for installation, but I might have missed something or taken a wrong step during the setup process. I would truly appreciate it if someone could help me verify whether I’ve installed AADL correctly within the Eclipse environment and guide me through the initial steps of running a simple example.

I am very eager to learn and understand AADL properly. Your support and guidance would mean a lot to me.

Thank you so much in advance!

Best regards,
Amita Rajak

It sounds like you have tried to install a development setup for OSATE. You only need that if you want to modify OSATE.
For learning AADL, I would recommend you download the OSATE archive file (zip or tar.gz) for your operating system and extract it to some directory.
Instructions are at https://osate.org/download-and-install.html. You don't need to install Eclipse or Java for that, everything is included in the archive file.

Once you have OSATE running, go to Help > Help Contents > OSATE Core Documentation > Getting started for an introduction how to use OSATE.
